The photograph was taken with fairly simple equipment. I had studied a bit about how to take night shots and lightning shots beforehand. Did I score on the first attempt? Yes!

The equipment used was the following: A Pentax K1000 loaded with Kodak Gold 100 speed film. The camera was placed on a somewhat shakey tripod. My Pentax only goes to 1 second maximum automatic exposure, so I had to babysit the timer. The shutter was open for about 2 seconds.
